A large demonstration at Ridglan Farms in Wisconsin resulted in around 25 arrests after protesters attempted to breach the facility's defenses to rescue the animals. The protests drew approximately 1,000 activists on Saturday, who faced police with pepper spray and rubber bullets as they tried to gain access to the farm, which houses around 2,000 beagles. The event marked the second protest in two months, with authorities describing Saturday’s clash as highly tense, involving barricades and efforts to prevent trespassing.

Despite the earlier confrontation, a subsequent rally the next day appeared calmer, with around 200 protesters peacefully gathering outside the farm before dispersing after a couple of hours. The sheriff praised the group's cooperation, emphasizing the importance of lawful protest. Protesters, led by the Coalition to Save the Ridglan Dogs, aim to draw attention to alleged animal cruelty, although Ridglan Farms denies mistreatment and has agreed to relinquish its breeding license to avoid prosecution. This ongoing dispute highlights the intense activism surrounding animal welfare at the facility.
